Set in the heart of the Sussex countryside, Sarah & Steven’s wedding at The Ravenswood was a beautiful blend of heartfelt moments and high-energy celebration. As a documentary wedding videographer, I love filming weddings where the entire day flows naturally—and this one truly did.
With everything from morning prep to the final sparkler send-off all on-site, The Ravenswood made for a seamless and relaxed experience. From emotional vows and personal interviews to beer pong, ceilidh dancing, and laughter echoing through the trees, it was a wedding filled with joy, love, and unforgettable memories.
The Ravenswood, East Sussex
The day began in the bright and comfortable prep rooms, where both Sarah and Steven got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. One of the great things about The Ravenswood is how everything is within close proximity—making the day feel relaxed, well-paced, and totally stress-free. The venue staff were incredibly accommodating, and the day ran with flawless precision, leaving everyone to simply enjoy the moments as they unfolded.

Sarah & Steven exchanged vows in the beautiful outdoor ceremony location, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful woodland views. The setting was truly magical, and the grounds of The Ravenswood offered endless opportunities for beautiful footage and photography.
Both Sarah and Steven were mic’d up for the entire day, which meant I could capture their vows, candid conversations, and emotional moments in crystal-clear detail. I also gathered interviews with loved ones, giving their film that personal, heartfelt touch that brings their story to life in a truly unique way.
As day turned to night, the energy only went up. A Cèilidh band took over the evening—my first time filming one, and wow... it really set the tone! The dance floor was packed with guests laughing, spinning, and clapping along to the rhythm, and it was impossible not to smile watching it all unfold.
The fun didn’t stop there—a bride vs groom beer pong showdown brought out some serious competitive spirit (with a surprise winner!), and the night ended in true celebratory style with a sparkler send-off, lighting up the evening with joy and warmth.
